About Eduzone by YMBA

Eduzone is Colombo YMBA's free education initiative for Piriven bhikkhus, youth, and students across Sri Lanka. We exist for one reason: to give people real English, public speaking, psychology, and leadership skills, without cost ever being the barrier. Based in Borella, Colombo, and open to anyone online, we're building a generation ready for real career growth, effective leadership, and impactful global communication.

Parent Organization

Colombo Young Men's Buddhist Association (YMBA)

Founded in 1898, Colombo YMBA is a leading Sri Lankan non-profit organization dedicated to moral, cultural, and educational development. Eduzone by YMBA is one of its flagship social initiatives, helping students, youth, and Bhikkhus access free education, leadership training, and practical skills for lifelong growth.

Eduzone Milestones

2021

Inception of Eduzone

Eduzone launches under Colombo YMBA leadership, with two core lecturers teaching free English and public speaking classes to Bhikkhus, youth, and students.

2023

Hybrid Rollout

Classes go hybrid, combining online sessions with in person learning at our Borella center, making Eduzone accessible to students anywhere in Sri Lanka.

2025

Curriculum Expansion

We add psychology and leadership to the curriculum, along with structured homework and practical evaluations, to match real academic standards.

Aug 2026

Student Completion Ceremony

We celebrate our students and Bhikkhus who met every requirement, attendance, homework, and practical evaluations, and earned their certificate of completion.
